Of all socio-cultural aspects that shape a region’s identity, local cuisine is one of the prime factors. Designed in collaboration with Square Consultancy, the renovation of ‘6 Ballygunge Place’, an eminent mansion-turned-restaurant, expresses an ideology that synchronises the dining experience with the rich cultural heritage of Bengal.

The restoration was conceived holistically, ranging from the architectural facade rendition, flooring, customised wall treatment, accents, etc. right down to the bespoke light fixtures and furnishing elements. The enormous variety of art and graphics in the restaurant, although inspired by Bengali traditional works, is contemporary in expression while honouring the quintessential Bengali home without imitative recreation.
